College life - Are you looking for a way to make your college life enjoyable? That should not be a hard thing especially if you have internet to do some research. This applies to both parents and the teenager going to to college. It is obvious that you will be starting a new life and may not be used to the new college life you are about to encounter.
Like everything else in life you will need to go through a transition period to take in the new change. The best thing you can do is not to resist change. This will make adjusting to the new life far easier than if you were to fight it. Things will not be the same as before.
If your were living with your parents you will realize that you will have a bit of freedom. No one will shout at you if you did not wash the dishes. But on the other hand you skip a meal you starve. At least at home you can sneak in and make a toast or something.
College life is good in many ways. Most probably you are going to be starting it without knowing how to budget. You probably do not bother about eating time maybe you had flexible hours at home. In some colleges where they serve food to students there are fixed times of eating. If you sleep too much, you snooze you lose.
In the same token the parent should not despair when their child goes to college. They should give him/her a chance to grow. Parents cannot teach us everything you know. Life has its on lessons that we need to take on our own.
That is not to say parents should not be mindful of the fact that their favorite son is going to college. The child might need a bit of guidance here and there especially if the parent had gone through the same thing. They should share some experiences, good and bad. This will psychologically prepare the child.
A parent must acknowledge and realize that times have changed. Everything can be done on the go. It is possible to pick your college roommate even before meeting them. Relationships can happen before meeting in person. During the times of the parents this was not possible. because technology was not in place. So our parents must take these things into consideration should they find their child social networking online looking for a college roommate.
Social networking is the in thing these days, you can use it to find a roommate for college. You can do it while on the go or sitting behind your desk at home. It is the introduction of these new technologies that can add a bit of spice on college life. Things can just happen in space.
